Peglin

Peglin is, in the words of its own developers, a pachinko roguelike in which you fight against tons of enemies through gameplay that's very similar to the classic Peggle. That is to say, you have to throw orbs against tons of bricks and tiles, trying to break as many as you can, in order to add damage to your next attack. Sound easy? It might, but it actually requires more skill than you think.

The structure of a Peglin game is very similar to that popularized by the brilliant Slay the Spire. Your protagonist, a small and adorable goblin, starts at the first node on the map and fights against relatively weak enemies. After that, it's up to you to decide which node to move to next. Some nodes have normal enemies, while others might have special events or even very powerful enemies. Deciding the best strategy for any given situation is the only way to win. And just like in most roguelikes and roguelites, winning this game is far from easy. In this genre, mistakes are costly.

Combat in Peglin is very similar to the gameplay found in Peggle. Basically, you have to throw your magic orbs at the matrix of bricks and tiles below. The most important thing to keep in mind is that, normally, the more tiles you manage to break, the more damage you can inflict on your enemies. In addition, almost all orbs have special properties that you can take advantage of. The dagger orb, for example, does very little damage if you only break normal tiles, but it inflicts a lot of damage if you manage to break a critical tile.

As with all games in this genre, each new game is totally different from the last. The game map will change, as will the nodes, the combat design, the types of rewards, and so on. No two games are alike. Even your orb-throwing expertise and other skills will improve with every fight, increasing your chances of success each time you play.
